Active Word Global Mission Nigeria

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

As we gather here today, we are reminded of the profound and timeless words from the Bible, specifically Matthew 22:37 and Mark 12:30, where Jesus commands us to love the Lord our God with all our heart. These words serve as a powerful reminder of the central theme of our faith and the foundation upon which our relationship with God is built. Love is a word that is often thrown around casually in our world today, but when we examine it through the lens of Scripture, we realize that it encompasses so much more than a mere emotion or feeling. It is an all-encompassing devotion, a commitment that requires our whole being to be dedicated to God.

To love the Lord our God with all our heart means to prioritize Him above all else, to place Him at the forefront of our thoughts, desires, and actions. It is to recognize His sovereignty and to surrender our will to His divine plan. When we truly love God with all our heart, we willingly submit ourselves to His authority, seeking His guidance and direction in every aspect of our lives. It is a love that is not conditional or based on our circumstances, but rather a steadfast and unwavering devotion that remains constant through the highs and lows of life.

Loving God with all our heart also requires us to invest time and effort into cultivating a deep and intimate relationship with Him. It means spending time in prayer, seeking His presence, and studying His Word. It is through these disciplines that we come to know God more intimately and understand His heart for us. As we draw closer to Him, we begin to align our desires with His, and our love for Him grows deeper and more genuine.

Furthermore, loving God with all our heart compels us to demonstrate this love to others. Jesus Himself said in Matthew 22:39, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Our love for God should overflow into our relationships with others, as we seek to love them with the same selflessness and compassion that God has shown us. It is through our love for others that we become a tangible reflection of God’s love in this world.

In conclusion, my dear brothers and sisters, let us heed the words of Jesus and strive to love the Lord our God with all our heart. May this love be the driving force behind everything we do, guiding our thoughts, words, and actions. May it be a love that is genuine, sacrificial, and unwavering. And may it inspire us to love others in the same way, that the world may see the transformative power of God’s love at work in us. May we be known as a people who truly love the Lord our God with all our heart.

May God bless you abundantly as you seek to live out this commandment in your lives.

In Christ’s love,
Pastor. Tunji Daniels
